So there was this terrible 80s or 90s movie in which the main character who was a man, gets turned into woman for some reason.
At one point he says the phrase " I'm a man, duh" during some wacky hijinks which another character hears as "I'm Amanda".

Please help me identify this awful garbage so I can track down every vhs copy and throw into a dumpster

I haven’t seen it, but this sounds like Switch. Ellen Barkin is the lead.

Here's another one. My grandma left me in front of the telly once, "oh, Tarzan, that seems kid friendly" and then paniced when she came back and realised tarzan was buck naked. As a very young kid, I hadn't really thought about it, until she turned it off.

What version of tarzan even was this, probably on tv at some point in the mid-late 90s. Searching just gets me porn.

Sounds like probably Tarzan the Ape Man with Bo Derek. It’s from around ‘81.

It's definitely SNL. Pretty sure it was Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks. Definitely that era.

Yep, except it was Phil Hartman and the host, Miranda Richardson. The sketch took place on a set for a movie called “The Rain People.”

Why do I remember this when I can’t remember the name of half the people in my office? Brains are dumb.

I don’t remember if that scene was in it, but that generally sounds like it could be Fatal Instinct.

Had this flash of a memory, someone talking on a phone and then it starts melting. Maybe one of the Amityville movies?
And no it's not Nightmare on Elm St

Google says this is 1408. Spoiler, I guess?

I also saw a reference to a melting phone in The Gate in search results, but I didn't spot any video clips for it. Never saw that either, so couldn't say if it's in there.

Was it a red phone? I found a trailer for The Gate that shows the phone scene. Around 40 seconds in:

What's the movie where a guy at his desk answers the phone by pounding his fist on to the desk, causing the receiver to roll off the cradle into his hand?

There’s an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry does this.

Im pretty sure George does that in several episodes of Seinfeld, but I don’t know which ones.

There’s a Joaquin Phoenix movie called You Were Never Really Here that’s got a very similar plot to this. Came out in 2017. I never saw it, but it’s supposed to be very good.

Edit - He’s trying to track down a kidnapped kid on behalf of a client, so maybe not it.
