Oh, and Jones was there too.

Looking for a film about a dinner party, probably black and white, proobably British. There might've been two ghosts observing things, but I might also be mixing two films up... It might've been filmed in real time, but I honestly think that's a third film I'm mixing in. Either way I can't find any of them. It wasn't a horror film.

It was sad because they were all getting older and it was most likely the last party where they'd all be together. I found it very boring, but my mum made me watch it, I kinda wanna go back to it now I'm older, but she's dead so I can't ask her what the film was. :(

It wasn't The Shooting Party, but she made me watch that too.

Blithe Spirit? Or maybe The Ghost and Mrs Muir?

Trying to find British films with ghosts but aren’t horror isn’t easy.

She made me watch both of those too. It's not Blithe Spirit, but I grabbed a copy of that yesterday because I wanted to see it again... The Ghost and Mrs Muir is an amazing film, but not it either.

Ding ding ding, that's it for the two ghosts! I guess the dinner party one was another one? I'll watch it tonight :D

The other one might be Dinner at Eight, I'll give it a look.

Your description of the dinner party made me think of John Huston's The Dead... longshot but it could be.

Ahh, this looks familar. The carriage in the snow... Good call. Might be it!

The Ghosts of Berkley Square was good, a lot more racist than I remembered it being though!

Just watched this. I'm still not 100%, but I'm pretty sure that was it. The fact you guys have managed to untangle the two films in my mind is nothing short of amazing.

I've tried googling this and can't find it. Film about a kid who slowly loses all bodily function until he can't even communicate, at the end they find out it was a food allergy? and he recovers and I think hates the book his parents kept reading him over and over. I would have seen this in the 90s some time, I was very young.

Edit: Ok I'm dumb, I've literally tried googling this multiple times over the years, and before making this post, and found nothing, but the magic search was "child film allergy parents -rabbit vegetable 1990s movie"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...First_Do_No_Harm

Edit2: The film above is obviously just the music video to How Bizarre.

Hot drat. A made for TV movie about the wonders of doing keto with a cameo from the dietician behind it? 90s were weird.

Just watched it. Not bad, but it has the screamiest version of "Over the Rainbow" in it that I've ever heard, and Meryl Streep is good, but also almost unrecogniseable.

I'm also not 100% sure it's the film I was thinking of, but I can't think of anything else it might be. Anyone know any other films from the 90s about kids who are made comatose and then cured at the end? Maybe something to do with communicating via blinking.

That sounds very promising! Time period seems more like it too, I'm pretty sure I was under 8 when I saw it.

Here's another one. My grandma left me in front of the telly once, "oh, Tarzan, that seems kid friendly" and then paniced when she came back and realised tarzan was buck naked. As a very young kid, I hadn't really thought about it, until she turned it off.

What version of tarzan even was this, probably on tv at some point in the mid-late 90s. Searching just gets me porn.

Well I guess I have a list of Tarzan movies to watch! Maybe I could make a night of it and rate them all on a scale of nakedness...

This one is from a friend:

quote:

It's not really on the tip of my tongue. More a vague souvenir I've always been curious about.
I saw the movie during a film showing in school as part of a cultural event. The movie has to be made before 2004. It was a VHS release.
It was in colour.
I can't confirm the country of origin or the language.
Part of the plot was about a guy (20-40 years old) traveling to an unknown foreign country to find a woman. He only knowns the voice of the woman from a recording or something.
There was a scene in a village, maybe eastern europe or middle east (no desert) where people played music in a tent or smallish building.
I only remember it because my friend remarked that the music sounded like Earthbound at that point, referring to "Battle Against an Unsettling Opponent".

I think it was mostly just a jazzy song with some bass and we didn't know anything else being young.
