was listening to NPR iirc today, they mention China's number one movie being about (3?) students who suspect a teacher of being a killer and what it's REAAALY about is how hard it is to be a parent in China and also the police are really good dudes (angels is the word used)

while ago I was watching iirc Comedy Central playing a movie, it was I wanna say from the 90s synopsis is about a guy scamming the US military pretending to be a contractor with a killer app/weapon? The one scene I remember was a guy in a wifebeater (or something equally nasty and goony) in a motel ranting to the main character that he's been waiting for a phone call that will change his fortunes but for so long (weeks? months?) he's giving up hope. He shoots himself and literally the moment after the phone rings.

Movie from the....90s? I think it's a comedy scene is a bunch of cops show up to a thing and two cops point guns (rifles?) at each other while getting in standoff position very Pink Panther vibe (for the scene anyway) but i dont think it was that

reading the Rome: Open City thread there was a clip i saw once from a WWII movie, black and white so probably around then or just after. I recall it being in english and there's an italian guy basically saying to a german soldier that they (the nazis) hosed everything up (socially, not sure if he was anti-fash resistance but he was in civilian clothers iirc) and the German soldier goes "how dare you insult ze fuhrer!"

had one myself. I remember a friend describing a horror movie that came out in the 1990s after seeing it theatrically (around the time Hot Shots part deux came out. Weird timestamp I know). It was also horror, bad guy was powerful but human (appearing?). So either posessed or a disguised demon or warlock type deal. At the end he does battle with a couple druids who use telepathy to move a knife back and forth between them (they may have been tied up?)

Mine would have probably been early to mid 90s iirc the games tried to have a futuristic feel. Like edgy American Gladiators (when he defeats a guy iirc he uses a key device on a podium to....stop a collar bomb or something to that effect?) setting was very contempo
