T-800s are infiltration units. It didn't have its full arsenal at the time and had just been damaged. I'm also not sure if it fully understands that 1980s weapons can't damage it, it probably seemed unwise to risk its precious mission on an all-out battle at that point.

You could argue that the police station assault shows the opposite but at that point he has gotten extra guns, repaired himself, and at least formulated a rough plan of attack.

But also because slasher movies always need downtime even when the bad guy "never stops".

Top Gear was the same way, the BBC could basically use any music because they had all the radio licenses so the mid-2000s episodes always had tons of great needle drops and even more obscure indie artists or movie soundtracks and stuff.

All of the subsequent releases and international airings have tried to match the general tone of the original music but it all just sounds like middling royalty-free library music if you've heard the intended cut.
