That one insert song they play is nice, but everything else sounds like it was meant to be a placeholder until the real music was made. It's the worst midi garbage, and there's only like 3 tracks they keep going back to.

It's okay for most of the show but the bosses really could of used some epic Final Fantasy XIV boss music or some more rock theme's all Yasaharu Takanashi

An S2 with the animation budget of Chu2 and music lifted from FF6/7/14/15 would be pretty sweet.

The music sounds like it's intentionally aiming for "slightly dated and not-particularly-high-budget videogame" aesthetic, which feels fitting enough for this broken MMO. I haven't really noticed it positively or negatively beyond that.

This episode was really fun.

Especially the image of the Giant Warturtle slowly lilting into view while the army realizes they're completely hosed.

Kind of reminds me of EVE PVP, with swarms of lowbies serving as cannon fodder.

If I had to chose a big guild to be in I would go with the Flame Emperors as at least the higher ups seems to care about their underlings and don't just use them as cannon fodder.

I don't see how the game would be any fun for people in the lower ranks of any of the guilds, but then again I never got into raiding in MMOs

Newbie welfare. Pay your dues and help out as cannon fodder in the big events, and your guild helps you out with every other aspect of the game (and NWO does seem quite PVE-heavy) until you can dominate the PVP battlefield as a senior officer yourself.

The game is so hosed that by the time you're leveled up all the cool gear and skills will have been mined already.

Unless you do the Overlord thing and find that the Horn of Useless actually summons Exodia if its been with you through 200 deaths or something.

Most skills seem to be available to everyone an unlimited number of times, but are often difficult and obscure to get. Maple's advantage isn't that she's a hoarder of limited resources, but that she constantly goes for things that most players wouldn't even imagine trying. In those circumstances, newbie welfare is incredibly valuable, and we've got a demonstration of that with the twins, a pair of total scrubs who ended up becoming the mighty fists of the deadliest being in NewWorld Online.

Yeah Maple's unique combination of skills makes it easier for her to pick up other, more interesting skills. Like how having a flying turtle let her bypass most of the angel skill quest, or how her venom pod lets her speed run low level dungeons.

It is more then just travelling fast to save her as she is quite eager to throw caution to the wind and unleash hell on those trying to hurt her.

Their little date in rainbowland and the shot of them leaning on each other in the ED is adorable and shippable. I'm not sure if they'll commit to it outright but it'd be nice.

Some of the cool poo poo we've seen looks like it's gated to a degree. ShieldBro's red-death gear was a reward for the first person defeating the raid boss, for example.

Though it'd be hilarious if more people could get the MechaGod buff and rain hellfire everywhere.

Most of Sally's toolkit seems to be generic skills that other characters also have, though.

She has got a terrifying stat distribution backed up by several generic-but-rare skills, though. It's not just pure moment-to-moment gaming ability on her own part. The whole point is that she's got a Maple character as assembled by someone who knows what they're doing (but is slightly limited by what she believes to be the boundaries of possibility).

i'm not sure if her demon form should be much of a threat to skilled players. i mean, it obviously will be ridiculously effective because that's how maple works. but it's a big, clumsy monster in an action mmo. as far as raid bosses go we've seen worse just in this show.

A mixture of surprise with the rest of the guild helping out sounds like a horrifying combination.
