 This is a thread for sharing African guitar music. A lot of the clean, intricate guitar work and bubbling bass lines in various African pop genres can be traced back to one man: Franco Luambo, frontman of the Congolese rumba ensemble TPOK Jazz. Here’s an early song of theirs.

 Thank you everyone for keeping the thread alive!

DGB: all of these are hits. I'm really enjoying the rhythm section on the Malombo Jazz Makers' track --- deep stuff. Also the ry-co jazz guitarist is sick. great sense of syncopation and variation on the standard patterns.


Anybody in the thread make music like this? I've been trying sporadically over the last two years or so while recording other styles of music and it definitely is hard music to record multitrack (plus my rhythm isn't great when it comes to 16th note feel).
