Does this count? My uncle's from Zimbabwe/South Africa, and been playing guitar all his life. I grew up listening to this album in particular: https://ilanzagoria.bandcamp.com/album/coaltrain-to-cape-town He was also in a group called Sundiata Marimba Band, which was also a fixture of my childhood, though they split up long ago and I can't find recordings online (and at any rate the guitar pieces are just ones from Coaltrain to Cape Town anyway).
