beer pal posted:the house producer called "ross from friends" his poo poo is really good, I also like DJ seinfeld. i think part of the micro genre thing is like, no one is gonna put you on a "electronic music" playlist on Spotify but maybe they'll feature you on a "future garage tech step" playlist if you insist that that's what you are? |

Skitch Step What it is: When I was young and dumb on a snowy winter day the cars back in the '70s had huge metal rear bumpers that you could get a real good grip onto. I rarely grabbed ahold of a random stranger's bumper, but my friend's brother in law drove a delivery van, and he was more than happy to let my friend and I grab ahold of the bumper and he would let us hold on for dear life as he took off down the snow covered streets, our feet sliding on the icy road as we used our sneakers as skis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU4qfajq_dU In some places of the world the highways are paved in such a way, using bumps in the road, so that when you drive down the stretch og highway at a certain speed, you hear music through your tires in the cab of your vehicle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxdC9qkrJoc Skitch step is skitching on the back of a '72 fish delivery van listening to that music through your leg bones https://i.imgur.com/QKTkerO.mp4 |

beer pal posted:idk i think experimental noise is a bit embarrassing. imagine telling a normie that youre into experimental noise music. i could never do it I listen to deliberate noise music. who wants to listen to someone fiddle with synth knobs, never knowing what sound could come out next? lately I've been into Team of Carpenters; especially their early stuff, pre-electric era SweetWillyRollbar posted:Isn't experimental noise just noise? biosterous posted:what if it was electric booty music i am okay with this. it sounds like a secret parliament/funkadelic album. this is weird because i intellectually recognize that there is nothing wrong with the term electronic body music but every time i say/think/type it my face pulls back into that textbook disgust expression, and i also fully assume that no one else is responding in a similar fashion, but in some fold of my lizard brain i feel the strong urge to somehow destroy a name.

I was gonna say techno folk but then fell in love with the idea. instead of dylan going electric, he went full-on cybernetic and his reign of twangy terror haunts neo-greenwich village to this very day. |
