If Biden gets the nomination then I guess elections simply will never even halfway function in America again.

Bernie should absolutely stay in as long as physically possible, simply out of spite, and maybe Biden will have a stroke or something.

How surprising that people aren't particularly motivated to vote for dogshit simply because the other candidate is a larger pile of dogshit.

The DNC and American electoralism is completely and utterly unsalvageable, but you can still bake a crock of beans and loaves of bread for a picket line.

What we need is (a shitload of) aquaculture, polyculture, etc. Closed-cycle style agriculture rather than destroying massive tracts of ecosystem & biodiversity, but using less/different pesticides in the process. Would it be expensive? Yeah, but also money is just made up by the government and attaching the profit motive to a human need as basic as food is way hosed up. The government can literally just force banks to waive debts or print money to hire doctors. The government is not a person who has to carefully budget it's living expenses or it'll need to eat ramen for a month. Money is made up by the US government, and everybody else has to deal if it prints cash because the dollar is the largest reserve currency (woo oil)

I did this for Hillary, in 2016 and got blamed for her losing. I'm not and will never vote for war criminal Biden, whose values (as shown in his voting record) are diametrically opposed to my own.

Kraftwerk posted:If you vote D you will still have a chance to vote for someone the next time. Voting R or staying home is going to result in the GOP consolidating minority rule and gerrymandering the gently caress out of any new up and coming minority districts that could potentially turn states blue. The way to help people who will be harmed under both candidates is not to vote for the monster with a D in front of his name, it's direct action. Volunteer your time and energy, rather than smugly proclaiming moral superiority for voting for a repugnant candidate simply because he's not orange.

evilweasel posted:i see no reason that the end result of another trump term is "eight years of a solid democrat". to the extent there is a significant impetus for action in 2024 it will be stronger if Biden has been president than trump, because things will have been done to make it better and the economy will not have collapsed. the "overton window" to use a common thread term will have shifted towards the left, leaving the question more "how much" rather than "do we do anything". a biden administration will have been able to do things that make more extreme action easier - it is harder to promise someone you're killing their job but you'll supply a new one later, it is easier to implement the new jobs then kill off the remaining jobs. Why is overton window in quotes like it's not a real thing?
