I understand the frustration, but accepting this framing is bullshit. Bloomberg isn't accepting donations, he knows the debate qualification rules. If anything, the donor requirement protected him from having to be on stage with Bernie. Can you imagine how good it would be for Bernie to be able to contrast himself against Mike loving Bloomberg? Tom Steyer is trying to be Bernie's friend and always says "I agree with Bernie," so the contrast doesn't work there.

No one should be able to buy themselves into a Presidential debate, let alone a campaign, and it sets a terrible precedent for the obvious ratfucking DNC to suddenly change the rules now when their only intent is to sandbag Sanders. Even if it doesn't work this is obviously some poo poo that should not be just shrugged off with the assumption that it is all going to work out for Sanders.

Okay so if it doesn't apply to you then why are you so defensive and picking a fight about it? PepsiOverCoke and other posters were fighting the good fight on behalf of good Mayor Cheat's honor for pages and pages, it's not like I made it up.

Also nicknames are fine and good as long as they're not reliant on some sort of bigoted logic. I'm sure Pete will survive being called a funny name for a few months.

I think youre confusing "not agreeing with the conspiracy " for "defending a candidate".

I just get mad when im literally here, literally ran a caucus, and saw how it went and then come on here and folks who have absolutely no idea how its done are making these huge statements and prognostications about cheating or tampering. Posting vote cards as if its a damning gotcha when, if you ask the guy who knows how it works, it was done properly! Same for realingment, same for each campaign being there for the recording if the votes.

Its as simple as applying Occams Razer here. Is it more likely a cabal of coders conspired with a campaign to cheat.....or did people just gently caress up the app reporting and campaigns have likely accurate information that informs their decisions?

Saying this without sarcasm - thanks for participating in the caucus. I have done on the ground organizing and campaign work and I know how tiring it can be, which makes it doubly frustrating to see people on the internet armchair quarterbacking and questioning the process that you're a part of. I get it and I don't want to diminish your role because getting people involved is important and vital to how things (should) work.

That being said - while I do think that everyone is a bit on edge because of the clusterfuck that this whole thing has been, implying that people are wrong to feel that there's some conspiratorial stuff going on doesn't seem useful when we have clear evidence from 2016 that the DNC can and has put their finger on the scale to benefit certain candidates. This Iowa thing does seem to be more of a problem of incompetence that leaves the door open for candidates like Mayor Cheat to try and eek out some advantage in their favor despite the numbers going the other way. A lot of us are inclined to be distrustful of these political processes for good reason so discounting people's concerns as "conspiracy theory" is kind of poisoning the well for having a constructive discussion, IMO.

Starting to think that Bloomberg is the real threat. He’s already shot up to like 15% national support in 2 months. He’s just announced he’s doubling his ad buys and his bringing his staff up to 2100 staffers, which is more than double Bernie. He has an endless supply of money. By not being part of this endless process up until recently he’s basically avoided all national scrutiny. And we’ve already seen the MSNBCNN types will stand up to defend him from perfectly reasonable attacks from the left.

Bloomberg has maybe the worst record out of any of the remaining candidates except for Biden and even that might be debatable. Stop and Frisk, denying food stamps to unemployed people in the midst of the recession, rampant sexual harassment in his companies, OWS crackdown, his terms as Mayor in NYC primed the pump for the current homelessness crisis there, etc.

Once the magnifying glass is on him whatever early advantage he can buy himself is going to evaporate quickly.

Look it would be one thing if any of these right-wing liberal candidates were lying to our faces like Obama was saying he wanted to change the country, saying he was a progressive, saying he supports the common man, before selling out to backroom representatives of the major banks.

It's another when we have people like Biden, Buttigieg, Klobuchar, Bloomberg, and worst who are not afraid to say they represent that status quo. Who say they are not going to rock the boat. That they will not bring actual real change to America. Even worse when every single one of their track record (maybe bar Klobuchar) belies years of enacting systematic racism at the cost of minorities.

How many homes did Buttigieg sell to developers in South Bend that belonged to minorities? How much loving wealth was lost by the poorest of the poor? What did those racist white cops do after they enacted a coup against the only black police chief the city has ever had? Will we we ever know

How many black and hispanic daddies didn't get to see their kids when they were sent to jail by Bidens sentencing laws? How many killed themselves because of debt enabled by banking and credit card laws he supported?

How many african americans in New york were stopped and harassed by the NYPD during his mayorship? How many of the Central Park 5 actually got to return to a normal loving life?

I can never support a candidate like that. It is anathema. They have destroyed our communities. They are vultures. We are their prey. They must beg for forgiveness for the damage they have wrought from God because I will not forgive them.

:perfect:

The DNC and the media have made it clear that they intend to ratfuck Sanders no matter the damage it does to the party or how much it might demotivate their constituency. Talking about unity for the sake of defeating Trump is just giving up on the possibility of not having to settle for this poo poo political system for the rest of our lives or until the wheels come off because we hit the tipping point on the climate.

It's Sanders or no future.

I don't think it's really appropriate to talk about African-Americans as if they're a single voting bloc.

It's not but it is fair to say that for all but the most affluent Black people in the US the Obama years were extremely bad and that was caused in large part by policies that Obama either compromised on or refused to pursue because he was never quite as progressive as most people imagined him to be.
