Okay I think I'm far enough in the game to where I could recommend Troubleshooter. It's an anime XCOM game that's been in early access for like three years but it's on sale for ten bucks now. It's got a much bigger mix of melee weapons/characters and is much more story based (no perma-death), but I'm at like 12 hours and it's really fun. Most people have like 60+ hours in it and I can see in the menu the huge number of enemies I haven't encountered yet. There's weapon crafting/upgrading and a FFT skill-system where you have unique passives you can assemble and customize your team members with. Also, maps can last a long time and have tons of enemies. One map had your four party members and then an additional seven police units you control, and you start on two different sides of the map and converge onto three bosses and their unit groups that total up to 40 enemies. Enemy counts can get high because the maps also get pretty huge. The downside is that the game is made in Korea so the English translation can be kind of spotty at points (but has definitely gotten better than some of the screens on the store page) and I think they might have like two maps left to finish before the entire story is done, but for 10 bucks I think this is a really good one

For anyone who's playing Beautiful Desolation - how does it compare to their earlier game Stasis? I like these type of isometric games, but I didn't enjoy Stasis.

Was Stasis the one that started with the cardinal horror sin of a Creepy Child Singing Nursery Rhymes because god that poo poo is the corniest If it was I played it and it was alright but Sanitarium is the gold standard for that sort of game and it didn't even come close
