So what are people's thoughts about Warren/The Klob/Biden dropping out soon or not. Clears the field for Bernie, or in 2016 RNC primary tradition, having them stay in as long as possible helps dillute the centrist vote and gives Bernard enough easy wins to snatch the nomination?

Yang supporters are now in the incubator after their first political failure. Like a lot of Ron Paul supporters, 10 years from now they'll either be marching towards a Confederate monument carrying tiki torches or be socialists.

Chris James 2 posted:You will absolutely not want to be here on Election Day if you think everything's going to go fine. Some in here already show signs that they're not going to take even the possibility of a loss well at all, let alone the thought 100% of the voters of the other Dems won't switch over to the candidate (likely Bernie) when it matters most I'd recommend that everyone have a plan B that involved organizing outside electoralism in case Sanders loses, if they want to keep pursuing leftwing politics.

It seems like a mistake to try to project the total number of delegates from two primaries that can't anticipate things like momentum and people dropping out. Also I really wonder if Biden is going to be able to get any support once he's trounced in all the primaries leading up to it.

romanowski posted:somebody earlier asked what exactly a contested convention means and I replied with a joke answer but in truth I would like to know what that means too. thanks for your help if you are serious: if a candidate has the plurality(<50% but more than any other candidate), but not the majority (>50%) of pledged delegates, the convention goes to a second round of voting and the superdelegates are allowed to vote and act as kingmaker. It is expected by everyone that the superdelegates would choose anyone but Bernie. Dreylad has issued a correction as of 03:48 on Feb 12, 2020 |
