iirc it was the biggest print release Seven Seas has ever done glad they're doing well! I have a tiny bit of regret not getting the print editions because they look gorgeous but I just keep reminding myself how much space all 3 series would take up once they're complete unrelated edit: 2022 OP is...sort of here!  I'll be editing and adding things to it slowly, and I still need to condense the 2021 list for the archive post but will get to that eventually. Any fresh news or info yall run across be sure to post and I'll get it added -- especially airing dates for upcoming shows. I have no idea but it's definitely a premise I've seen in the setups of a few others. Honestly I kinda like that SS is just going for it with some of the most polarizing options they could have picked, and at least KS has a huge audience already built in so it will hopefully be successful for them. I'm just a little bummed that they didn't grab a title I actually like and would want to own

I started watching Epic of Divinity Light (Dinghai Fusheng Lu) tonight, got through 8 episodes and I'll probably finish the rest tomorrow. It's been a pretty easy one to binge. Feels like the pace has gone really fast and it throws a lot at you, especially in the beginning. I didn't realize the manhua had an English release so I'll toss that into my bookmarks to forget to read just like the Heaven Official one since I always forget about bilibili's comic site. I'm always curious how these strips translate from web to print. I assume they just rearrange, redraw, and smoosh the panels together to work kinda like traditional a4-5/print layout? It's not unusual to see long shots/pans that take advantage of the infinite vertical space they tend to have after all. (Though I guess if they're really lazy they can just smash together 2-4 panels per page or something, just snip out the whitespace.)

Really hoping for uncensored On or Off since the German version apparently is. From what I remember of seeing some pages from it they do rearrange the panels for a more traditional print comic layout.

I finished watching Epic of Divinity Light, what a sad episode to end on Since I've been kind of alternating between it and S2 of Legend of Exorcism and being as they're connected it's kind of hard not to compare them, and I think LoE is the more enjoyable show. The cast has a lot more charm and the enemies they fight actually have some variety vs endless waves of zombies which gets kinda old. I do want to read the manhua and see if there's more character stuff in it because I think the donghua really doesn't leave the story any time to breathe. Also idk if there's even going to be any more of it since I couldn't find any hint of a second season being announced or anything.

and now I'm done with S2 of Legend of Exorcism. The little bits of cartoonish humor help a lot in this one especially considering they happen in between shots of an entire city including all the babies and old people getting brutally slaughtered; a little levity keeps things from feeling entirely too dire  Li Jinglong being kind of a dork is part of that, since most of the time he appears to be this super competent, handsome badass then every now and then he does something to remind you that no actually he's kind of a goofball.Li Jinglong being badass:  Li Jinglong loving up 2 seconds later:  I also think, kinda going back to that previous comparison between this and Epic of Divinity Light, it's just a lot more fun when both the leads can hold their own in a fight instead of one having to be rescued constantly. Hongjun is really fun to watch when he's tearing it up. It would be really nice if these shows actually had a finale though, instead of just being like "whoops we're out of episodes see you in season three"

I would assume but haven't looked at it close enough to know for sure. My tl went *wild* for that announcement so it's apparently a popular one (and/or I just follow a lot of people who like omegaverse lol). This is (I think) only SuBLime's second venture into the genre and they're pretty conservative with their choices for what gets a print edition so it's definitely getting more mainstream. I hope CTK's manga does well and they also pick up Never Good Enough.

it's interesting how omega stuff has been expanding. There's the "traditional" slash omegaverse stuff, theres the het stuff that is basically just using it as a buzzword for standard romances, theres a not insignificant subset of transfem-adjacent f/f stories and i'm sure theres even m/f stuff where the girl impregnates the guy
