I thought Eakin might move. He's had a really down year and the team has too much forward depth to keep him around. This frees up some cap space to go after another decent D

They have plenty of forwards (Cody Glass has nearly the same contribution for less money) and need either a much better backup, or another decent puck moving defenseman for depth.

That’s a great pickup for the VGK. They’ve had tons of problems in net and Subban has been a terrible backup. They have depth everywhere now and this is great for them

Cousins also seems like a good get for the VGK and essentially replaces Cody Eakin except better in every way
