Black Shades, by the developer of Lugaru, is a weird and good FPS escort mission generator-thing. You're a psychic bodyguard in a randomly generated city filled with pedestrians, with a person in white to protect from assassination. If you kill an innocent or your charge dies, you fail. Here are some things that are possible in this quick game:
- you project your consciousness a block ahead and identify assassins before they give themselves away.
- weaponless, you go into slo-mo, wrestle a pistol away from an assassin, shoot him in the head as he lies on the ground, and kill three other would-be assassins
- you peacefully disarm an assassin and let him go
- you lose track of your charge and he gets shivved
- you throw away your sniper rifle, steal a knife from an assassin, and run around knifing bad guys
- your charge is bitten by a zombie and dies'
- you shoot your charge out of irritation at his aloofness in a previous life
