Shameful to mention Iji but not HeroCORE. Standstill Girl is a neat little RPG by a Japanese indie dev. It's pretty straight forward, but I have a fondness for it. It's got some lovely music, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbigNqZ-mII https://www.talesofgames.com/related_game/barkley-shut-up-jam-gaiden/ Barkley Shut Up And Jam Gaiden is still unironically a very well made RPG. https://rdein.itch.io/ Though not as good as 3 and especially 4, the first two Momodoras are fun little action platformers. Cactus has some neat horror or otherwise weird games like Norrland and Mondo Medicals but I have no idea where to download them anymore. I'll add links as I find them because linking on a phone is always a pain but a few other ones that are good: Oneshot, a neat little meta adventure game (before Undertale came out and made that kinda played out). There's an extended version on Steam. Awesome music too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYQzoZ4GwSg A Very Long Rope To The Top Of The Sky, another JRPG made by Kasey Orzymy, who went on to create the also excellent but not free Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass. Does the Chrono Trigger thing where you can end the game early for different endings which I think is neat. Mogeko Castle, an RPG maker adventure horror game. It was suppsoed to get a spinoff/sequel but that's not looking likely anymore. OFF, another RPGmaker classic. (A lot of these good free old games are rpg maker or game maker, huh?) It's gameplay is pretty basic but the strange world it's set in and seeing more of it makes it worth playing. Cuntellectual fucked around with this message at 01:47 on Mar 8, 2020 |

StrixNebulosa posted:It is the same character! That specific game is a prequel, before Trilby got caught up in supernatural nonsense. 1213 is a really interesting idea, but I think trying to make a platform stealth/shooter thing in AGS was a little too innovative. Yahtzee also did playthroughs of all the games he made, right back from the ones when he was like 15, with commentary with one of his friends who'd never seen them before, which was interesting.
