ECW used to produce these cool videos that would catch you up on the company's history. I could only catch the show randomly on syndication so these helped a lot. It was also really cool that they had the wrestler's theme music play over each of them as they became world champ.

You know what was great?

Tajiri and Regal winning the tag belts in Japan. Great pop on their entrance, both of them looking pumped as all hell, and a huge pop on the win. Pretty fun little match.

Hometown/home country wins are cheesy as hell but dammit I love them.

E: lol just noticed Lawler counting the pin in Japanese.
E2: and the crowd chanting REGAL-SAN. holy poo poo there's a lot of great little moments here

You know what was great?
Leaving all wrestling when David Arquette became champion, trying WWF but not liking it as much.

And then randomly in 2005 discovering Ring of Honor doing with Samoa Joe American strong style, CM Punk the most obvious main eventer and with one of the easiest and best heel gimmicks in wrestling, Bryan Danielson single handedly carrying technical wrestling as the greatest wrestler on the planet, and that wrestling felt real and that there was a whole brilliant independent scene that on purpose WWE was ignoring and not using for spite reasons.

And from that a direct line exists to 15 years later i am in an uber coming back from a concert wearing a Cody Nightmare Family shirt.

The 1992 Rumble match. You got an amazing win by Ric Flair even though I was rooting for Piper, Bobby Heenan with the best color commentary ever, and Hogan being a sore loser by costing Sid Justice the match thus ensuring I was never a Hulkamaniac as a kid.

I was the same in 1987, after WM3 I was incredulous that the greatest event in history was being snubbed by mainstream media in Ireland. I presumed the american papers were filled with it.

When he stares at the audience in the middle of the hug with disdain for them booing the moment, it’s that rare perfect mash up of subtle real emotion with a pro wrestling character. He is really, truly disgusted with the audience, it shows, but it only enhances his character.
