"Here, this paper just says to sign if you love wrestling, do you agree?" That, or trapping him in the giant net that they used to capture Drew Gulak. They tried to get Sabre with it but he just contorted his way out.

When Ibushi showed up to the Cruiserweight Classic he was walking through gorilla and Vince came up to him to go over the match. Ibushi had no clue who Vince "loving" McMahon was so he gave him a high five and pushed right past him to the ramp. Naturally this made Vince offer him a contract.

Please continue with Ibushi stories if you have them. I know very little about him or even Japanese wrestling, but it's been the first thing to cheer me up in days.  I hope he gets to wrestle the virus in another bizarre-and-probably-inappropriate gimmick match one day, and beats the living poo poo out of it

Supposedly, they were taken aside before the show and told specifically not to do any high risk moves like jumping off the balcony, or they would be banned from the venue.  Kota Ibushi received a lifetime ban from the Nippon Budokan (though it was overturned a couple years ago when NJPW started running the building for big shows again).

iirc Kota's dad was some bigwig at like an electrical company or something. He would have had an easy gig for life but immediately threw it away because literally all he's ever wanted to do was wrestle
