I'm reading up on old Ottawa Hockey Club history and man that was just such a completely different era. A lot closer to the Allan Cup and how senior men's leagues work today, where teams just jump back and forth between different leagues.

Also, this rules:

Can we go back to picking a player for a single year, rather than a four-year period? It's a fun draft, not at all a competitive one. Make a choice. This also allows for better statistical gimmicks.

If we�re doing a player can only be picked once why not let the picker decide how they want to interpret it? It�s mostly a thought exercise, so if I want to say like Cheechoo is a better pick than Mathews because Mathews never scored 50 I could.

Alright I think this gives people enough leeway:
