CBJSprague24 posted:Sweet. What happens if there are more injuries than extra players? Do we get to add a free agent? I'm going to run a bunch of sims to see how that plays out. I've deleted every player in the database, so it will just be the guys we drafted for now. If that proves untenable my idea is to add something like 2F 1D 1G to every team's minor league. If I go with the latter, feel free guys to just post who you would want your minor leaguers to be. If you don't post I'll just pick them as best I can. Basically you can choose any of the many really really good dudes (and girls) who didn't get drafted.

I'll take an extra goalie in Alexandar Georgiev of Bulgaria to finish my collection of countries (unless there is a awesome Albanian i'm missing). In true european diplomacy we are ensuring that we have a geographical diversity in our leadership group. From the Scandanvians: Borje Salming of Sweden (C) From the Eastern Block: Helmuts Balderis of Latvia (A) From the Balkans: Anze Kopitar (Slovenia) (A) Bob Manno of Italy as Coach fills the Western Europe quota in a our leadership group. It was decided that Ovechkin should not take a role in the leadership group due to a number of players i'll feelings towards Moscow. If needed an additional Assistance captain is the neutral decision maker of Roman Josi of Switzerland is the only logical choice.

Thanks for setting this up, while we wait I will present my quarantine-boredom fueled lineup for the New York Rangers! FORWARDS DEFENSE GOALIES EXTRAS Head Coach: Bryan Murray Captain: Foote Alternate Captain: Forsberg Alternate Captain: Koivu Overall very happy with my team. Didn't pick a gimmick but it played out to be a pretty punishing, frustrating team to play against that would be hard to knock off the puck. My top six uses the formula of uber-skilled playmaking center, dynamic scoring LW, and massive piece of poo poo pest-net-front-presence RW. My 3rd line is a shutdown-checking crew that can play conservatively against some of these all-time lineups and still put in goals. 4th line is a wildcard, energy, and speed line that could easily move up the depth chart. Kamensky can fill in as a good scoring winger anywhere in the lineup and Gratton is my power forward punchman that will fill in any bottom six roles if needed. Zubov-Hamilton is a very exciting puckmoving first pair and my bottom four consists of an equal balance of offensively minded players paired with classic shutdown specialists. Went with two modern goalies who have a tendency to go on crazy unbeatable streaks. Also ended up picking a lot of former Rangers who played their best years somewhere else....although that's generally unavoidable. My extra-extras are 1. Kelly Kisio (86-90, NYR) - can't have too many skilled centers 2. Bobby Ryan (08-12, Ducks) - 30+ goals every season during that run 3. Bryan Berard (97-99 NYI) - His Calder years before the infamous eye injury and 4. Jacob Markstrom (15-present Canucks) - consistent, giant netkeeper WeaponX fucked around with this message at 16:38 on May 12, 2020 |

SASNHL Commissioner T-Bone announced Monday the ability for teams to sign depth players for potential callup should mass injury or Coronavirus strike their rosters. Following the 2F, 1D, 1G, the Blue Jackets today announced the signings of four players, two of whom were considered by the team in the Draft, who will be assigned to the Cleveland Monsters: From the 2009-11 seasons, winger Chris Stewart, who will be doing his second tour of duty with the Monsters, will bring a mix of skill and truculence to the AHL club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHnxGCOp34w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5HLMeyDCz4 I still have no idea how Brayden Point wasn't taken in the big draft, but we're not going to look a gift horse in the mouth when we can stick a .89PPG guy on the depth chart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-RM8C-4uEs You're going to laugh, but Kris Russell from 2013-15 is a serviceable 8th defenseman on this team and once gave me a puck at the Shark Tank while hanging out by the tunnel during warmups for a CBJ/Sharks game, which he then autographed at the FanFest in Columbus a month later claiming he remembered the exchange. That type stuff makes you a fan of a player for life, no matter how obscure. He'll get lots of time in Cleveland working on his penchant for late GWGs (as long as they're not own goals) and might also get to punch a dude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sNEGepttpM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYUuGYwPOig Passed over twice in the NHL Draft, 2000-06 Manny Legace took an underdog story and parlayed it into a Stanley Cup and at least one ASG appearance. He'll be the #3, but provide solid depth in net. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMMbxHZ9mwg _____ 53 Gaudreau-34 Matthews-91 Fedorov (A) 22 Prospal (C)-4 Lecavalier-8 Recchi 14 Whitney-19 Tavares-11 Williams 27 Hornqvist- 92 Kuznetsov-13 Atkinson 17 Dubinsky, 24 Gerbe 2 Keith (A)-7 Seabrook 15 Kaberle-74 Carlson 55 Kronwall-94 Barrie 3 Bieksa 30 Brodeur 1 Bobrovsky Cleveland: 25 Stewart (LW), 21 Point (C), 10 Russell (D), 32 Legace (G) AGM: Jarmo Kekalainen/goon Boomer The Cannon HC: John Tortorella AC: Dave Tippett (F) Brad Shaw (D), Ian Clark (G) e- Damnit, Auston Matthews, why did you have to pick a goalie number? Take 1996: Fedorov finished sixth in the voting at center, his true position. He also finished fifth in voting at left wing. Oh, and he finished sixth in voting at right wing. I thought of making him a center until I built up that ridiculous center depth. If a couple of Matthews/Lecavalier/Tavares/Kuzy go down, we've got Brayden Point on the farm. (Had I known we'd get extra extras, I'd have taken he and Stewart first, then put Dubi and Gerbe in the minors.) (Could be worse. I considered putting Fedorov on the blue line as a gimmick ("He could've won the Norris if he wanted to play defense.").)

The St Louis Blues are adding depth to their line up with the following selections She championed the US Olympic team to a gold medal , and also won 2 silver medals. Also a Clarkson Cup champion. Meghan Duggan She is the winner of 4 , yes 4 Gold Medals in Women’s Ice Hockey, including the game winning goal in 2002. 2 time scoring champion for the original NWHL, as well as champion winner. Awarded MVP in the CWHL in its inaugural season , as well as champion in same season. Scored 69 points in 28 games. Final career tally was 439 goals in 418 league games. The St Louis Blues select (and probably should have selected earlier) Hockey Hall of Fame Member: Jayna Hefford Yeah, we are putting her on our main lineup. For defense depth , the Blues add: A Gold Medal Olympian , 8 time IIHF gold medal champion, winner of the Coarksok Cup and Isobel Cup. Kacey Bellamy A grit defenseman who’s career was cut short by an eye injury. He was plus 53 during the Flyers 73-74 cup winning season, and after his unfortunate passing the Flyers named their annual best Defensman award in his honor. Barry Ashbee St Louis Blues final lineup: Coyne-Schofield (26) — Wickenweiser(22) — Pastrnak (88) Oshie (77) — Poulin (29)— Knight (21) A Kessel (28)— J Lamoureux (17) — P Kessel (81) Ferraro (21) — C Granato (21) — Hefford (16) Carson (2) Schwartz (17) Meghan Dugan (10) Dineen (11) Heaney (91) — Neidermayer (27) Ruggiero (4) — Parayko/Anderson (55) M Lamoureux (7) — Scott (28) Bellamy (22) — Ashbee (4) Szabados (1) Tretiak (20) Ayres (90) Berube Captain: Hickenweiser Assistants: Poulin, Oshie To go over: the theme of my team was men and women’s hockey being equal. I ended up with 14 women, 13 men. I do believe that women’s hockey is awesome and underrated , and that it is also hindered because they don’t get the resources and attention of men’s hockey. The next step forward for women’s hockey is a NHL all star game of mixed men’s and women’s team, which I do think will happen , and that is what I hope my team shows. Most men’s players were chosen because they have some connection to women’s hockey : -Pastrnak: not only did a national commercial with Coyne, but took a pay cut so they would be paid equally -Oshie: went to Prom with Gigi Marvin -P Kessel: brother of Amanda -Ferraro: narrows Cammi Granato -Schwartz: sister came back to play in college hockey after having cancer , then unfortunately passed. He wears 17 in her honor -Dineen: coached women’s Team Canada to a gold medal -Parayko: connected with a young girl who has a childhood illness, handed her the cup after winning it -Scott: asked “what would your family think” when contemplating playing in an all star game while his wife was pregnant -Ayres: his wife is great at Twitter Anyway, there’s my team. Maybe I’ll add an assistant coach still , but overall it’s complete.
