Well, someone's unhappy. Turns out Krig is Vietnam, after all.

Also, when she said something like "Move your APC closer!", she might have been talking to the driver, not the player.

Is elevation always an advantage or does the game understand that a reverse slope defense can be very effective and that skylining yourself is a big help to enemy aim? From my experience playing ground control 2 I'd say it doesn't, but a lot of elements apparently changed between the games. (Such as tanks getting machine guns, and tanks being unable to use the main gun and machine guns at the same time.)

I'm a bit sad about that, always feels like an overlooked component in games.

The hangar guards being worried about spy satellites and not caring about the window or at least a guard on each side of the super secret storage of alien fuckery, screams corporate best practices followed by someone rating checking boxes to rise in rank over doing a job they aren't really paid enough to do.

Also, if the war was a million years ago, erosion would have done a number on the remains, maybe not quite erased craters yet, but done quite a number. Not on the old bone tower though, it is still turgidly skyward, its noble erection clawing at the clouds as intended. The lack of signs also isn't too obvious to invaders busy fighting a war because they weren't looking for that right now, earthworks are earthworks, how they are used in battle is the more pressing question.

RTS where terrain elevation isn't obvious and yet is important, shameful, put a hotkey toggle for contour lines displayed on the main view. Active by default. Actually, it's one of the things that the wargame series did really well, with the clear markers between flat terrain and slopping terrain with the edges, fields and slopes.

Oh, the missiles spinning around air units, the nightmares instead of hitting them, the nightmares just don't stop.

I really get the feeling the game could use a remake with a better interface. It almost screams that it wants to be remade in Wargame: Red Dragon.

God does fight on the side with the best artillery.

Note that they are using rocket assisted propulsion shells, going by the red flare that appears a little bit after launch. It's a bit ridiculous going by the actual range, but that's common enough in RTS games. It was far more ridiculous in world in conflict, though.

The game started the joke so I'll finish it, please rename the The Massive Roughnecks to The Army Strong.

I don't know why, but I have the feeling things are going to go to poo poo.

Also I guess he survived by running like his rear end was on fire. And "Sympathetic signal resonance" at least means what it is supposed to mean, that's pretty good as far as technobabble goes.

Using aircraft seems like it's a game of worrying all the time about AA positions, even more than using those lightly armored specialist units while in ambush paradise.

Well, now that we have superiority in orbit, we have to either launch a large number of assaults which the Astrid can't all support or have the Order find a magical alientech way to mitigate that advantage.

Or the game could play it straight for a while and let us gleefully call down space artillery.

Pressing F for the Gormans.

I think the sound is missing during the briefing? I'm pretty sure it is.

Well, one way or another you have the youtube blackbox to deal with, you can't know for sure what happens once you put something through there.

Well, now for my comment about the actual game. I can't help but think that using bombers requires you to have complete recon to avoid AA or risk just suiciding them, having some SEAD planes to keep AA on their toes might have made them more useful.

But I'm afraid it would require higher unit counts to handle that diversity and I'm not sure the game has it in itself, or its control scheme. Still, could have been a fighter consumable.

Considering the lack of both saves and reinforcements, it's pretty hard to be too careful. Also they pack an obscene punch, but that might be hard mode being badly balanced.

Definitely a little too scared of those templars.

Well, they caused some serious problem with your marines by getting you to keep your vehicles too far back. Kinda annoying in terms of battle plans that the infantry mortar doesn't seem to wipe them in one go.
