I have the original game but no longer have a PS2. I hadn't played it in probably 12 years and I finally got around to getting PCSX2 setup and working and played through the whole game a couple weeks ago. It's every bit as cool as I remember it being, and I think now I have more appreciation for just how weird and Japanese it is. Getting A rank on Normal mode is about the extent of my abilities but it still feels really good. I've tried Master Mode but it's just too hard to be enjoyable for me. Seems like something you could obviously practice for weeks and learn the patterns but that's not really something I'm interested in doing, especially without original hardware.

All the songs are so good except for the hammerhead shark fight songs those suck. Also apparently in the PSP remake they dubbed some of the songs in English and it sounds awful lol.

Flyin' To Your Heart will probably always be my favorite, but it's really hard to go wrong picking any of the songs.
