you can lock yourself out of getting 100% completion if you skip a certain thing in the first controllable area but yeah 100% ending doesn't matter. that 0.1% you miss at the start especially doesn't matter considering about 10% of the completion percentage comes from a very repetitive (and totally optional) thing later on that you can very easily miss events for if you're not being obsessive! just play x-2 whatever way you want & have fun, though I will say that you shouldn't visit all the hotspots right away in each chapter and instead just be a tourist for a fuller experience. it's a good game

Yeah, if you really want 100% just do NG+ and choose the other faction when the time comes because that gives you enough percentage to not worry about the 0.1% you missed because you entered this area from the wrong entrance.

1. lol the remake not only gives you turbo mode but push button access to "Get 99 of all items" 2. FF7R didn't break me of my hoarding instincts, why should I spend limited resources when I can just spam auto attack through all these random battles 3. uh is this creature trapping stuff new, I don't remember this from when I tried this a long time ago?

Resonance of Fate shows its entire hand in about the first hour and if you arent onboard for doing that with basically no variation for 20 more hours you are in for a rough time. The over arching story also doesnt really exist until the like last 10% of the game so again, if the combat and dressup doesnt wow you theres not much else to hang on to. It also features an escort quest in an RPG and one of the absolute worst escort quests of all time. In the only other game the RoF characters appear in, a goofy crossover thing, their stage is this escort mission and the joke is that its now overtuned in the players favor as an apology.
