For those who don't understand: there is over 100 MILLION DOLLARS in the FEC's public campaign fund for any party that can get 5% of the vote. With that kind of funding you could actually take on the existing parties. Get the Greens over the 5% line, really shake up the system

They've been steadily going up since their nadir in 2004. If turnout is similar to 2016, we need about 7 million votes to get that 5%. SEVEN MILLION SOCIALISTS TO THE POLLS! LET'S DO IT!

2008 was particularly funny because the Greens nominated Cynthia McKinney and got fewer votes than both the Libertarians and the Constitution Party because she was running against Obama 2012 was funny because Roseanne ran for the nomination but lost to Jill Stein

That said, I don't think they're so bad and they have a place in a left coalition. They certainly worked hard to keep up this nice national party we're swarming into.

maybe these are my brainworms talking but i'm pretty convinced it would be easier to get reasonable modern nuclear power into the green platform than it would be to get the democrats to stop global warming

Yeah I'll do this. In past elections I voted for explicit socialist parties, but this time I really want to help send a message to the democrats, and greens running a socialist are the best poised to get anything close to noticeable numbers. That and I just saw a video of Howie for the first time in the OP and see he has an adorable accent, lol.

Well now that Bernie is out it's time to vote pragmatically I might not get exactly what I want so I should vote for the next best candidate. Howie it is.
