I think the Greens should rebrand themselves as the Clean Party, it would fit in with toxin type bullshit your typical green voter might think about and maybe the name clean can make the party seem like it isn't corrupt or something

But don't let them talk about clean vaccines, it won't be pretty

known? its all the same fud for ages. its exactly the same playbook as russiagate: play up stuff that happens all the time but isnt widely discussed as being exceptional to create a narrative of anomalous activity. notice how for libs lawyers are always sorkian professionals just doing their best for the institutions of freedom when theyre defending a killer cop or knocking people off of ballots, but when theyre getting third parties involved in voting procedures theyre just out to make a buck and the judge calls them "daft". btw that judge worked for arlen loving specter and was appointed by gwb. wonder why he would think third parties doing things was daft and pointless. im sure its just objective, ideology-free public service

the stein recount thing was stupid reactionary bs but notice theres not articles like this about the thousands of much bigger #resistance grifts out there. think about why and how this was written

they also make a big deal out of the campaign having debts, implying that its a cash grab embezzlement. most campaigns end up in debt. contrast to hillary getting a "debt is a smart wonky asset, actually" treatment in 08: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/clintons-campaign-debt-as-an-asset/. bill still had debt from his 96 campaign as late as 2012 (https://www.politico.com/story/2012/04/clinton-giuliani-edwards-campaigns-still-in-debt-075211), despite accruing like $65M in worth in the meantime

just to really dig into what a load of poo poo that article is (and all articles about this that are just dem smears and left shaming), let's spend 10 seconds looking into one of its points:

quote:

In Pennsylvania, the Stein campaign spent $2.25 million in leftover recount money in an effort to get the commonwealth to commit to a paper trail in future elections — something its Democratic governor, Tom Wolf, had already ordered counties to do.

That litigation, which resulted in a settlement agreement where the Wolf administration restated its existing efforts to replace voting machines, extended through 2020, with attorneys for Stein arguing that the new machines were not good enough. That argument, rejected in April, resulted in a verbal lashing from US District Judge Paul S. Diamond, who called the litigation "daft," "ill-considered," and "pointless," The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

so the governor had already committed to new machines, and stein was just being a petulant rabble rouser saying they werent the right machines? this article seems to think so too

https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/jill-stein-pennsylvania-voting-machines-lawsuit-20200218.html

quote:

Pennsylvania’s top elections official warned a federal judge Tuesday of chaos should the court block Philadelphia and two other counties from using their new voting machines during the 2020 presidential elections.

“Your honor, I can’t overstate … the chaos that would ensue, frankly,” Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar said of the primary election. “The voters who just learned a new machine would have to have something, some ability to vote.”

wow, chaos and anarchy, just so these unpragmatic childlike third party grifters can make a buck interfering with the Serious Adult Democratic Election Officials. anyway, lets see what these machines are

quote:

Stein and the Pennsylvania voters joining her as plaintiffs say the counties should replace the machines in question, the ExpressVote XL from vendor Election Systems & Software, because they make it difficult to properly verify and tally votes, undermining election security.

The machines, they say, violate the settlement by relying on bar codes, not properly allowing voters to confirm their selections, and producing a paper record that is not technically a ballot under Pennsylvania law.

hmm, wonder what the problem with those machines could be

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/30/us/politics/pennsylvania-voting-machines.html

quote:

The machines that broke in Northampton County are called the ExpressVoteXL and are made by Election Systems & Software, a major manufacturer of election machines used across the country. The ExpressVoteXL is among their newest and most high-end machines, a luxury “one-stop” voting system that combines a 32-inch touch screen and a paper ballot printer.

To initiate a vote, a voter places a blank ballot-shaped piece of paper in the machine, makes their selections on the screen, and then presses the word “vote.” The machine prints a ballot that is protected under a plate of glass for the voter to review. The voter then clicks “cast” on the screen, the digital votes are recorded on a USB and the backup ballot is transmitted to a sealed canister in the back of the machine.

The machines began arriving in the county in August, having gone through a federal and state certification process. The only remaining testing to be done was what officials called a “logic and accuracy test,” which is a quick dry run of roughly 20 dummy ballots. But the ExpressVoteXL has an auto-test function in which the machines can simulate a full digital test, a feature that election security experts say is ill-advised.

“It doesn’t test if the touch screen or the scanner work. It doesn’t even cast votes for everyone on the ballot,” Mr. Skoglund said. “It is especially concerning that it can send made-up votes to the vote counting software without needing a real ballot. Fake ballots are a feature no voting machine should have.”

The automatic tests in Northampton proved problematic, and did not even cast a test vote for every candidate, according to test receipts shown to The New York Times. But the machines were still rolled out on Election Day.

wow, a ~~nyt~~ from 2019 article about how much these machines suck, how they hosed an election in pennsylvania specifically, how they seem to have strange bugs voting for some candidates even in their completely trust-destroying Best Buy Store Demo mode. seems like those concerns werent so "daft" and "pointless" after all, and that maybe the governor wasnt acting entirely in good faith with his paper trail commitments.

wonder how many times stein's legal action against them is mentioned in this very serious nyt journalistic journalism of journaling article from 2019, when that very legal action was in full swing? 0.

but maybe stein should have gone through the proper channels and negotiated with these Serious Upstanding Professional and Well-Meaning Officials instead of spending tax-payer campaign-contributor dollars on lawyers and injunctions. anyway, what serious business where those officials up to in the meantime

quote:

It was the way the machines were selected by Philadelphia elected officials that drew the most scrutiny over the last year. Since 2013, E.S.&S. had been courting the two city commissioners who were responsible for choosing the next voting machine, according to a report from the city comptroller.

The lobbying firm for E.S.&S. had donated $1,000 in 2013 to the campaign of Al Schmidt, one of the city commissioners, and again to a group supporting his re-election effort in 2018. They also spent more than $27,000 in direct lobbying of Mr. Schmidt.

Mr. Schmidt made a visit to only one company’s headquarters: E.S.&S.

In total, E.S.&S. spent more than $425,000 in lobbying expenses related to the City of Philadelphia.

Emails obtained by the city comptroller also found that E.S.&S. had influenced the writing of the city commissioners’ $22 million budget request for new election machines, tilting the process in favor of its machine, the ExpressVoteXL. The city eventually purchased the machines for $29 million in February.

Are there any Green candidates to watch for that might actually win a slot this year?
