I sure as gently caress hope not. Killing Joel - implicitly being the one to kill Joel is too loving far, sorry.

People retroactively making GBS threads on the first game itt could chill a little bit. You're really cool for not caring about TLOU, ok? I kind of hope the leaks are fake or an early draft to throw off people. It sounds really mean spirited. Uncharted 4 is fantastic, by the way. It's real odd how everyone is so quick to dismiss the other stuff this dude worked on. E: I'm kind of reeling how sophomoric these reveals are when there is some actual heart in those two other games despite people coming out of the woodwork to explain how shallow and awful they were. E2: I have not heard the "i'd rather watch a movie than this long cutscene" since probably MGS4, so this isn't without entertainment Firstborn fucked around with this message at 22:38 on Apr 27, 2020 |

Really, the only thing you got from the first game is "torture porn"?

The only thing that could salvage seeing the bullet points written out like that would be if the game somehow makes you care about Abby, but it's hard to see how this could play out, especially if all the dialogue snippets are true

Sorry if I snapped at anyone or upset anyone. Just kind of upset that Joel dies. I really like the character, and TLOU was a time-and-place thing that makes it one of my favorites. Gotten kind of cagey with quarantine woes. Cheers.

Terminal autist posted:Would you say the original game is the citizen kane of video games? No, but what is? Are we doubling back to where video games can't have a story that gets you invested? TLOU takes some tired themes like zombie apocalypse games and makes the character interactions mostly believable and engrossing. There was some subtlety, nice little twists, and some real emotional resonance that made lots of players... give a poo poo. I'm trying to be as non-combative as possible. ~Games are art~, etc. You tell me what the citizen kane of video games is, man. Doom 2016 because the Slayer punches the tv away? Is "TLOU had a good story" such a hot take? Really? Firstborn fucked around with this message at 23:18 on Apr 27, 2020 |

You really said the music is bad in TLOU? You think Gustavo Santaolalla is making "generic Avengers music"? Take 5 minutes and watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejdjcun2Jo4 Skip to about 3:50. He sometimes used things like broken guitars, household items you'd find repurposed as potential instruments in the apocalypse, and seldom heard or mixed instruments to convey the idea of disparate pieces having to come together. The music in this game is instantly recognizable, and I can't pick out a single goddamn Avengers track. There's been video essays about how generic the Marvel movie soundtracks are, but when you hear https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssLAf5akbfU, 10 seconds in you know it You are also probably one of the ones who threw their hands up to an invisible referee when you heard the game was an "escort quest" and then want to complain about enemies not being able to see Ellie Firstborn fucked around with this message at 14:40 on May 1, 2020 |
