I'd be delighted if my "not voting for any rapists" vote did something productive, so yeah, unless they conjure some morals and get rid of Biden (and replace with someone who hasn't raped anyone, I feel like I need to clarify this in 2020) I'm thinking Green.

all right let's please use this thread for serious in-depth issue discussion, not driveby shitposts at your posting enemies

most important issue of the day: how many rapes does a Democrat get to commit if his opponent is an orange man? obviously at least one duh, but as more women will likely come out during the campaign we need to clarify our pro-woman principles and draw a red line: six? a dozen? one less than Trump? should he get to commit more rapes than Trump since he'll balance it out with good things like better grammar-use on Twitter? what if Trump's makeup gets less orange, does that affect the calculus, maybe less rapes are okay if opponent is less-orange man?

Trump, like Boris, has cultivated a very particular image of being a doddering mockable fool, which he has used to disguise his somewhat threadbare but mostly solid strategy that not one of his opponents would ever actually risk enforcing the rules against whatever he or his buddies choose to do.

My argument for going into the 2020 election: you shouldn't vote for rapists

100% agreed. Even if Biden's policies were good, and not even one of them is (at very best they're "less bad" which frankly should never be good enough), the rape- doing it, denying it, allowing the hordes to bail on basically every feminist cause- should absolutely disqualify him and show you just how much he actually cares about anyone who isn't him. I'm done being a polite little pragmatist who tries to find the least damaging path forward and I'm sick of the only paths forward being "very damaging" and "somewhat less damaging than the other one under certain circumstances."

I made this post in the Primary thread but I think it's still relevant here:

They don't want to give anything, they don't want to receive my support, and they're both putting forward monsters.

You don't seem to comprehend just how far the Democrats are from anything that any other country would ever consider "left." I live in New Zealand (dual citizenship with America) and our wild, insane, idiot right-wing minor party starts where the Democrats' far-left fringe ends. AOC would politically fit in pretty strongly with our major centre-right party, except that they're all incredible morons and she seems pretty clever. I can't talk about American politics with my girlfriend, because she ends up feeling loving sad that everyone in that hell country has grown up never feeling like the state has ever done anything positive for them in any way. Here in New Zealand, prescription medication, no matter what it is, costs $5 to refill, and that's New Zealand dollars, so that's ~$2.50 US. Any ER visit is free, any physical accident or ailment that leaves you unable to work is covered for a vast amount of time. We're killing covid-19 to the point where we're a few months off from actually having no cases anymore, and we're doing that entirely because the folks here basically trust the government when they put on a broadcast saying "hey you all need to stay the goddamn gently caress home for four weeks, yeah it's gonna suck but we need you to do your part while we do ours, please don't buy all the toilet paper lol."

And we passed a minimum wage increase and a permanent benefit increase, both during the pandemic, both despite pleas and whines from business owners and right-wing morons, we extended protections for renters so they can't be kicked out unless they're two months behind on their payments despite moaning from landlords, and there's even quiet discussions around implementing a UBI, and all of that is just to help deal with covid-19. And this is our moderate, sensible centre-left party currently in power! Our wild ultra-left fringe party wanted a rent halt but couldn't quite push that one through yet. I say give 'em time, they might actually pull it off.

Left governments literally everywhere else in the world offer their citizens something in exchange for their vote. Good ones offer their citizens lots in exchange for their vote. The Democrats in the US usually offer to do nothing, as opposed to increasing the pain, while Republicans offer to increase the pain over here on the bad people, in order to decrease the pain over there on the good people. And then they stick two ancient dying rapist puppets up in front of you and order you to pick a side and score sick burns about the other one mentally falling apart faster, and they tell you that's what politics actually is.

You're in Plato's cave here.

Fair enough. Either way, have there been any other high-profile instances of Biden being compared to Trump and Kavanaugh yet? It's common on the Internet, of course, but so far the only "mainstream" things I've seen have been attempts to discredit Reade, without a single comparison between how Democrats are treating Biden versus how they reacted when Republicans were accused, even if only because it's being rebutted. Which isn't too surprising, since they wouldn't want to put that out there and have people start thinking about the connection.

while I disagree with the reading of party rules, this is very very good, it means bernie gets literally hundreds more delegates at the convention and therefore has a lot more pull both directly (in actual votes on things) and indirectly (just sheer numbers of people holding a particular opinion sways other people, because we're social animals)

I'll agree that he's like this in person with some caveats.

Narcissists are wildly abusive behind closed doors. Trump constantly gets dunked on and whenever something lands or he's forced to do something that he doesn't want to do, the normal MO for a narcissist is to wait for about three days and then explode into a wild loving rage. I guarantee you that powerful people are constantly screamed at, have had whatever is at hand thrown at them, they're told that they're useless, garbage, incompetent, just this red faced rage until he runs out of breath. Then he stews for hours, even days, exploding at anyone to reestablish his identity.

Narcissistic rage that comes from narcissistic injury, IE injury done to a narcissist's identity is well documented and common and they're a serious sight to behold and terrible if you're trapped around them. Being in Trump's sphere of influence, especially those under his power, has to be the most miserable experience.
