Hot weather doesn't seem to be any sort of deterrent. People will no doubt point to the slow spread of COVID in Africa, but you have to consider their relative air-travel isolation, sparse population on most of the continent, experience with Ebola and other outbreaks, and the fact that only something like 4% of the African demographic are 65+ (as opposed to 20-25% in the West).
