I do enjoy the Come at the King stuff, but it does have a much different tone. It's kind of like Naddpod and Trinyvale, much better in small doses. I don't know if I'd keep listening if this wasn't going to just be a short term thing. The harpy is loving hilarious to me though.

And I'm relistening because I just signed up for the patreon, and I do enjoy the original characters more.

I’d like to get my hands on one of those sonic youth shirts they have but they’re limited to the top tier of the Patreon and that’s limited to like 100 folks. I’d be down to throw 30 bucks at them for my level of enjoyment plus the cost of a shirt but it’s super annoying that I can’t unless someone drops.

I always thought it was kind of weird they only had so many slots for the highest tier. Is it just because they're relatively new?

Though I wonder if you could ask in the Discord about it. I know they just started selling shirts, if enough people are asking for it they might do an extra run or something.

iirc, folks at the highest tier get some level of input on the creative process and also get those character sheet thingies. I'd assume they don't want to blow out their time accommodating all that and want to cap it off. That said, let me buy the drat shirt.

Makes sense. In that case I'd start making noise on the Discord. From what I've seen they're fairly active in it, and a merch thing is more likely to be taken seriously than anything else. I know Boggy from Dimension 20 is coming out because people kept saying they'd buy it.

At least I know I'm free and clear for the foreseeable future though.

It's either from the Rude talks patreon thing or the dropout adventuring academy show, but Branson said he realized Kebin was way, way too powerful when he introduced him. Kebin coming back for any serious amount of time is definitely a long, long way off. .

And I'm so tempted to get a Riddle Guy 97 shirt. I've never worn tie-dye in my life, but that might be worth it. This show seems to have the right amount of heartwarming and emotional seriousness to balance out the "Stir Fry becomes as erect as possible" hilarity.

This last episode did have a small crossover with characters, but it's not like it's serious canon where you have to know everything about what's going on. It's just fun to hear one of them have to voice a second character on the radio or something like that. It would have worked just as well with a random NPC that got made up on the spot so you wouldn't have missed anything.

You and me both, if you or anyone else ITT comes across a comedy call of cthulhu role playing podcast please post it to this thread because I've been longing for one of those for years.

Would also be interested in a comedic Vampire: The Masquerade podcast. I loved the Blood Tales of Depravity episode the rude tales cast did, but Branson hated the rulebook for VtM (which is fair, honestly) so we're never getting one of those again and it's left me hungering for more. Although I guess What We Do in The Shadows is basically VtM lARPing, so there's always that to fill that particular void.

Stream of Blood did some pretty cool Cthulhu stuff, their Neptune Society stuff should be up on youtube. There's definitely horror but the players are almost all comedians so it gets to be pretty fun. Several of repeating characters are just ridiculous and yet they still work. Horse cocaine may be one of their better bits, and the live show they did to determine what happens in the next arcs was incredible. They must have had something like 20 people they were switching between during the stream, and even had a running mystery/adventure happening during it.

Becca Scott's Calyx has some decent stuff too. Not as much comedy, but still very entertaining. Not a spinoff, but she's said it's inspired by when she was on Neptune to start her own Cthulhu stream.

Stream of Blood's VtM stuff has some decent comedy in it, but it's more dramatic. Still worth a shot just for Brad Lockwood and the running count of destroyed cars. Also, one of the main players is from that HBO show Raised by Wolves and is not only incredible in his scenes, but his reactions to other players. Dude's just good at twitch gaming.

:hai: the Museum of Threes is not the product of a show with a tight grip on its narrative nor a DM that is capable of mistakes

The bit recently where a couple of the characters just went "Lets go on a walk in the woods to look for what we want, oh look, there's a cottage lets go hang out" was apparently just them deciding to go to a cottage in the woods. Entirely made up on the spot, yet sounded like it was a fully fleshed out location he had planned on them going to. There's no way that was railroaded, it just was two people deciding to have a character moment and Branson going along with it.

I believe several of them have day jobs, and OTTSOS isn't their big podcast. I just always figured it was who had time in their schedules to do an episode or two. I thought that's why they did it like old Star Trek episodes, someone could drop off one week and come back the next and not mess everything up.

More Ali and more Carly would be great, they play off each other really well but the episodes are always good.
