How does the think tank to policy pipeline look? I was at a MedEcon conference (recruiting, not my field) a few years back and got incredibly depressed at how folks spent so much time trying to figure out exactly the mathematically perfect description of 'how do we run healthcare in the US' with a recognition that optimizing the math is a tiny consideration in getting health policy passed.
