on a better, less hellish timeline the orbital mechanics or whatever of Mars and Venus would be slightly different and make these places habitable like the pulp novels said Venus would be rainforests and Mars would be arid but with weirdo neolithic canals or whatever and the USSR would have colonized Venus! it would be the true destination for Tim Curry, unspoiled by capitalism
