I tried doing backyard blacksmithing. I made a piece of metal shaped into a different shape.
Lessons I learned:
1) I need a flat sturdy surface to keep my cheap harbor freight anvil from moving around
2) Melted Non Ferrous metals burn much more nastier on your skin than Ferrous metals.
3) Don't use coal that falls off trains, it emits a nasty green smoke that makes my chest hurts.
4) I'm lazy.
