DeadFatDuckFat posted:I have a big ol spider living in my right sideview car mirror. I've only seen it once, but its a big boy. Shamed to say that I've tried to hose it out multiple times, with no success. I've ceded that side of the car to the spider and have named it Frank. Frank is a very fine boy and will treat his side of the car with respect! cnut posted:Those are some first-rate spiders, op.

Having my own place made me REALLY like spiders because of how much I hate house bugs. My occasional spiders are shy and passive. EorayMel posted:But what about horseshoe crabs op?????????? YES. I am also accepting of isopods, snails and slugs. They look so curious about everything!

Giant pincers and tiny little horns! This is a velvet spider! I would like to pet his butt. Which I might be able to do, because the internet says their venom is harmless to people and they are reluctant to bite!

I'm enjoying all our cool and misunderstood critters! This is an Orchard Orbweaver! We apparently have them along the east coast in the US, but I've never seen one.

This thread is like the second family your cat has. Even if it don't belong here I will pet it, give it Friskies, and it can go home at night.

I forgot I made this thread so it's a nice morning surprise to see all your lovely spiders. And they may be natural enemies (leggies vs wingers) but the bats are beautiful, too!
