Star Trek: The Motion Picture is a boring movie
I've been watching a lot of Perry Mason on MeTV over the past year, and I'm a sucker for a detective/noir/crime show or whatever you want to call it. It's right up my alley.

One question though, is it established in the books that he was a PI before becoming a lawyer? It's not a huge deal, but I was just a little confused when I saw he's a PI in this series.

Yup. He did a ton of work for HBO. The Sopranos, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire.
