It irrationally annoys me that the nickname the Japanese fanbase has settled on for Clownpiece is basically "Crappy" written in katakana and they completely ignore her canon nickname of "Piece."

is it better or worse than western fans trying to get "clownpi" to stick

So is Sailor Moon Crystal like a more faithful adaptation of the source material? It’s on Hulu too which made me remember that that was a thing, although it’s not like im gonna stop watching the original because that’s still pretty great.

one thing i'll say for the manga is that i prefer its more gender-fluid Haruka over the anime's always masc-presenting Haruka

i agree outfit wise but on the flipside the whole 'haruka is neither a man nor a woman' shtick is definitely *not* naoko takeuchi being woke, lol

it's real clumsy at best, but at least it's only like one line and then never really comes up as a thing after that

re: Shiori Experience, it does seem like they decided to put the ghost band plotline on the backburner for now, which honestly, i'm glad of

plus the brass band teacher is a much more interesting antagonist than evil music ghost kingpin

also i always kinda felt like gunbuster's mix of genres never really coalesced into a single whole and instead just kinda kept jumping between them, while diebuster got a more cohesive story from beginning to end and consequently left a larger impact on me
