I may be yospos champ here, I flew Auckland to Chicago in January which I think is 15 hours. i’ve also done Auckland to Houston which is similar

I think the only longer commercial flight (in the before time) was Abu Dhabi to Auckland.

on thread topic: I think maybe 3-4 weeks at a time when I was travelling in se asia, but then i woiluld use a computer in a hostel or whatever to check email and banking and poo poo. or the 8 years of glorious childhood pre-computer

if you count multi-hop flights, living in london + being from NZ made 30+ hours a regular occurence (common for lots of kiwis)

love when some rear end in a top hat is drunk on the plane in London and has to be escorted off so your flight is late into dubai and you miss your connecting flight to sydney so have to stay in shithole dubai overnight untill the next one. then your total time becomes like 60 hours

Before the 'rona, I used to travel all the time. I really miss going to actual cities with poo poo going on and cultures that are less white-bread than NZ but my lifestyle before was loving ridiculous and environmentally irresponsible. it will be interesting to see what happens after covid settles down and if we'll ever go back to that level of comnmercial travel again. probably, because capitalism
