I mean, they specifically make a point of showing that he moves completely unnaturally in a way largely untethered from the laws of physics. His Gear form isn't designed to give him an immersive, realistic experience as a warrior in another world, but to swiftly and efficiently eliminate anyone disrupting the game he's moderating with the most advanced technology Solid Quake can deploy. Zones only matter for people who use their legs to move.

That was not the way I was expecting that to go, but it makes total in-world sense. I am READY for next ep.

All the talk about control and bugs made me realize this story is a lot like a reversed version of The Matrix.

Tbh instead of killing the gadoll to win system's favor I'd rather they made friends with it and shot down the spaceship, it clearly can do that.

Wait so the cyborgs have been largely in outer space this whole time? That’s what’s implied, right? Whoa.

Maybe this'll end with everyone back in a humanoid body. And yeah I think it might be important that the gadoll didn't attack until it was attacked. I'm wondering if they're implying it's rather innocent.

And yeah, Natsume's superpower is 'makes friends with everyone', so I can definitely see her convincing Kaburagi and the new Gadoll to work together rather than murder each other. We need some kind of payoff to all the setup with Pipe, and that surface-to-orbit beam cannon is the best leverage they have against Solid Quake (provided it can fire faster than their dimensional collapse mechanism).

I get the impression that the cyborgs are at least a solar system-spanning species that have abandoned earth for the most part. This whole deca-dence thing is just a tiny playground for them.

From what's been shown the rouge gadoll was scavenging and hadn't actually encountered anything alive by the time it approached Deca-dence iirc. It's just been devouring all it could see.

The humans and Gadoll rejecting divide and rule and teaming up against Solid Quake would also slightly raise our odds of getting Hugin and Munin back as our final boss. Yeah, their exit was pretty cool and thematically fitting, but our heroes getting to slug them in their pointy faces would feel a lot more meaningful than doing it to an abused pet with big sad eyes.
