plunked down $ for a lectric xp 3.0 and just realized that it doesn't have a real torque sensor :saddowns:

how different is it from a model with a torque sensor? I've only ridden bikeshare e-bikes so I don't really know what to expect. I don't think I could get a different folding bike with a torque sensor for the price though

thanks everyone! I'll try it out and see how it is. it's kind of a gift for family that I'll be able to use so if it's intolerable I'll know for next time

I just got my Lectric bike yesterday and immediately took it for a 15 mile trip in the pouring rain to in-n-out and back. surprisingly rideable even with no pedal assist

were in The Bay Area was it pouring rain yesterday?! i call bullshit, bikeliar!

I'm visiting family out of state lol. They live in suburban hell but there's a surprisingly robust walking path system so an ebike actually means trips that are unreasonably long on foot become reasonable bike trips

I use the proper hand signals for turning but whenever I see a cyclist use the hand down brake signal I am super impressed, I am far too lazy for that.

are you supposed to signal with your right hand in this case? it seems like more of an emergency measure akin to using the hazards to warn of sudden stopped traffic ahead, in which case i’m usually too busy braking to signal with my left hand

more rear lights should come with accelerometer-driven braking detection as standard
