Well, gently caress - who would have guessed this off-season would be the dumpster fire we always hoped would pop up? Not like this though, not like this.

As usual, we select our draft order by having each player be randomly placed into a NASCAR driver at an upcoming NASCAR race.

Kayak is true
So here's what I'm thinking:

I don't think there's any way we can do this league as a normal, everyday league that we have always done before. Week-to-week there will likely be so many cancellations, byes, etc.

I'm wondering if we should change things up a bit and run it more like a daily fantasy league?

So my idea:
1) No draft. We start with everyone on waivers.
2) Waiver wire is processed Wednesday night at like midnight PT
3) Every Sunday (or after the last game is final), all rosters are cleared and all players are placed on waivers
4) We'd drop bench slots and maybe kicker/defense? Maybe even drop a few position players?

We can do our normal head-to-head, roto or straight points during the season, then swap over to a playoff if it makes sense. If schedules are ever consistently playable, we could end the roster churn and keep the team we have at that time.

The shittiest thing about this would be that I would have to manually drop all your players every Sunday.

Yes, it would be near impossible for inactive players to... err... not put up 0's every week.

Idk about putting everyone on waivers, dont really like that.

Could you just make it so the waiver wire happens more than once a week?

I think waivers can be processed to occur on multiple days, so that's possible and doable.

I wanted to bring this back up to the group - is there a big negative to this? With the semester looking... dicey for college sports, might this be the best way in lieu of expected game cancellations or absurd conference schedules?

I would rather punt the season than play DFS bullshit. I have other poo poo to do than research a new lineup every week.

Another alternative: we can reduce bench sizes to increase players on market so someone won't get lucky and be able to hoard playing players.

You're going to probably be rebuilding week to week based on whose games are happening or not anyway. It'll be a comedic season, at least.

Yeah like weekly keepers one at each position but you've got to refill your roster to keep up with cancelled games and poo poo.

It was always going to be more effort to play this year, but a total redraft each week would prob be overwhelming.
