I won the third time I played. Final round was hexes. Fortunately, in the previous game I'd just spectated, I watched a genius jumping between individual hexes, which extends the time you can stay on a layer significantly. So naturally I copied that strategy. When the second-to-last person fell, I was still two or three layers above the bottom layer.

If you end up falling and there’s significant holes below you could wind up going from first to last really quickly. It’s really difficult to do but try to judge if the layer below you has anyone. If it’s empty try to fall down safely and continue hopping. If you focus on staying as high as possible at any cost it can get you ELIMINATED Likewise if you’re near the bottom of the pack you want to be touching as many hexes as possible for the same reason

I think only SOME of the team games are bad. Like the Tails game where only the last 10 seconds matter, or Rocket League where you can be outnumbered/have awful teammates. Hungry Hungry Hippos is super fun as well as the one like it with the big beach balls. I think there's a lot of hyperbole about how bad the team games are, especially on the discord.

# ? Aug 6, 2020 00:49 |
the team games are always bad because whether or not you win or lose is almost entirely not up to you

it's a fun novelty to play a videogame adaptation of Takeshi's Castle but this game got really boring after after about an hour, none of the minigames are interesting beyond "oh heh, it's that thing from all the game shows" or "ugh another platforming segment" I won a match where the final game was finding the correct route through disappearing platforms when everyone was grouped up near the end and I grabbed another player and pushed him onto another tile, exposing the real one and then capitalizing on it before everyone else noticed. After that I'm calling it quits because that was the only memorable moment in all of my playing

Slime Rush is a loving massacre every time and if they're stat-tracking I expect it to get patched within the week. I saw a second-round field of 45 get winnowed down to 10. No other event combines instant eliminations with a race with a capped number of qualifiers, it's insane. Also I figured out the lyrics to the song they play during the events. Get the juice box we get the juicebox I get the juicebox you get the juicebox we get the money!

Do you mean slime climb? That one doesn't have a capped quota but you're hosed if you get caught in the mob while trying to do the timed jumps.

slime climb is fun as hell

Yeah, Slime Climb, but it absolutely does have a X/Y counter at the top for finishers instead of most events where if you fall you're out, where they count eliminations and end it after a certain amount have gone in.

It's the same as the moving wall game except the timer is the slime instead of an explicit number under the quota. I'm pretty sure everyone can make it in both games if they can avoid the slime.

Egg Scramble is easy. Just find the currently losing team (endeavour not to be the losing team) and sit in their nest and toss eggs out until the timer runs out.

From what Ive seen it seems like some of the obstacle course stages are just too straightforward to punish the people who start out in front. Watching Critical play and he started in first and just ran uncontested the whole way. Other levels are actually pretty clever in the ways in which they distinctiveness you from being in the front (breaking through the walls in the multiple-choice stages, the timing-based blockers in slime climb where you have no choice but to wait), but unfortunately it seems like the final stage obstacle courses like Fall Mountain all kind of fall into the first category

I hated See Saw at first, but now I'm convinced it's actually genius. Of course you're gonna lose all the fun if you're in the front group, but reading what others might do is one of the most fun moments I've had in multiplayer games. It's distilled mind games with masses without complex rules.

It needs to be longer and with more challenging obstacles. Hexagons is the best because you can actually play against each other.

I purchased the hamburger/soda/french fries costumes and they are a delight. I've gotten really good at the egg grab and the soccer match and i'm absolutely terrible at the see-saw level. But i've gotten up to level 11 in a day, so I hope to improve.

Fall Mountain at least starts you in a single line of 11/12. I've been behind on that one and won several times now. You have to make use of the spinning hammers to push you forward and you can make up some ground. Also on the see saw game I've found if you dive onto platforms you'll 95% of the time stand back up even if the platform is close to the limit. This can help you climb some silly steep ones that others are falling off by just walking onto.

# ? Aug 6, 2020 11:03 |

I have only gotten see-saws a few times but I've found that if you're on the branch that will never get the platform back, diving off respawns you on the other branch so you can continue on as normal while other people stand there trying to figure out what to do. This game is absolutely wonderful and silly and matches take maybe 10 minutes, it's perfect for a dumb grin.

Is there any point to grabbing other players? It doesn't seem like you can do anything useful, like throw them off a ledge or something.

I somehow grabbed someone near an edge, walked into them, and pushed them off. I think they were AFK... So what's with the achievement for winning 5 shows in a row? Unless I just don't understand the game, there is far, far too much not-skill involved for that to be feasible. Is there secretly high level skill to this game?

If you can reliably get to the end (IE, not get hosed over on team games) you can pretty consistently win the final stages with a couple of tricks. The mountain you can abuse the hammers to push yourself forward, the slimefall game you can jump one block at a time to massively increase the time you're up there (you just have to be wary that below you isn't entirely cleared out). But yeah its luck.

I really like the memory game. Not because it’s hard but because it’s so easy the only way to get people eliminated is to bully them off the edge and it’s hilarious every time someone is mobbed off. Also the spinning pole one just because I like watching people get wrecked by it

A guy got me on the drums; I was prepping to go after a gap, timing it, and he grabbed me and I didn't let go of the stick. Lets go and I rocket off into the slime as the last elimination of the round. Good on ya, bro.

Have the devs said anything about adding new minigames? The fact that they're doing seasons sort of implies that they will be but a 20-game rotation will probably feel stale pretty fast

Ideally, some way down the line there would just be a massive pool of games. There really is nothing more heartbreaking to get to the final round, and that last half-second gives the victory to someone else. Still waiting on that win...

Absolutely loving this game. Got one victory under my belt so far. I really like most of the race events. See saw and slime climb are my favorites. Not a big fan of team games, but they're mostly fine. Egg Grab however is awful. Just awful.

Game rules. I don't think there's anything I've encountered so far that I hate, but the team games are a little rough. I hope they sort out the server issues soon! I just got kicked out of a match.

I hope they add minigames that are single player at a time like MXC. The camera focuses on one player at a time while the rest of the group tries to mess with them or something like that
