That was a really great pilot episode. The sundown chase was horrifying. davidspackage posted:The one thing I disliked was how clearly those CG monsters were shown, as they looked kind of boring. Would've perhaps been better to obscure them more, show little shadowed glimpses. If I have one complaint it's this. The creature transformation was much scarier in comparison but based on the dream sequence and the preview for the next episode this show isn't going to be holding back on the weird.

I liked the pilot a lot more than the second episode. I just wasn't drawn into the wizard plot with what we were given. I really enjoyed George but I had the sense he was going to die last episode and the book in the library made it too obvious.

That one was so much better than episode two. Jurnee is an insanely good actress. I wonder how much of that gore was practical makeup?

Catching up on the last 3 episodes and Meet Me in Daegu is by far my favourite so far. Perhaps because it was very traditional in tone and had a standalone story? I wouldn't consider the Nine Tailed Fox a Lovecraftian monster but it was fascinating nonetheless. I hope Ji-Ah integrates into the main plot.

Goddamn the sex scenes in this show keep managing to outdo itself.

Similarly I didn't care for the main plot but individually I liked the characters/performances and the genre shift for each episode. The journey was more rewarding than the destination. I have no idea if season two is on the table but I honestly don't need it. If it does happen I hope they delve more into cosmic horror now that white people are bound from practicing magic.
