It did what it had to do - show a promising vision of the future, and remind people that Trump is terrible. A pretty decent empathetic speech to the nation in prime time is going to look like a historic masterstroke for the ages when it directly follows four long years of the idiotic hateful poo poo Trump has been belching out.

They know Trump is going to lose. One thing Fox has been not-so-subtly doing is trying to usher along their audience through the stages of grief, to avoid some massively long period of pointless shock and depression so they can get on with the business of being evil after Biden is sworn in.
