Will he sell you the entire panel, then you can split and re-weld along the original seams?

Yeah, the DVLA have always been really good when I've phoned them. Compared to the American tales of their DMVs, it's really quite remarkable. I need to find out how to get the manufacturing date of the 924, as it's registered in Jan '82, so probably built in '81, but isn't registered quite early enough in January to be considered '81 by default.
