I don't mean to quibble but everyone's over the moon over this Elder Ring game. Just.... ok, aside from the really overdone idea of  imbuing a ring with forbidden energies  , did anyone actually, like, bother to consult the various schools of magic that are supposed to be depicted. It seems like this generation is more about Dark Arts as a corruption of things you hold dear than, say, generic or indiscriminate acts of chaos. They're more about tearing down systems of empowerment than, say, randomly soul-binding a village to sit still in the town square and watch as they slowly die of hunger. In the sense that you expect you apprentice to overthrow you, they reject that as a starting point. They're instead ignoring that to show you how little they care for your power in the face of their own ambitions. It may not be how we did things. But I'm interested to see where it goes. We all know the pendulum swings every half eon or so. Just wait it out a few hundred years and we'll be back to the ol' double crossing toadies thing.

Is anyone else concerned about this ScryGPT poo poo? I've got a fairly diverse set of skills that have weathered a bunch of persecutions, witch-hunts, and industry changes. But it's something else to just watch Decoctions, spells and wards appear on a Tome with just basic instructions. They're not half bad, either.

Could be a Grand Lich. But is it possible the creature faked their death with a Null Life spell? Wouldn't be the first time a trickster decided to fleece a few rubes without the proper scryers in town to set them right. Though.... the bit about the adherents and relm-jumping and partaking of the flesh makes me think it could be a Higher Order, possibly Eldrich or Apex Dimensional, Belief Parasite. Temporal arts will put you a half-step out of sync and still let you keep your poo poo. But make sure you wards aren't disturbed because gently caress if endless seconds slamming into your relics doesn't suck balls. Also no use using soul-marring spells or incantations as realtors are devoid of such niceties.

Set up a caste system for your followers where the wretched and ugly become beautiful demigods in the next life if they work sufficiently hard in your name on your projects (but stay away). Make it also so they need to select their most attractive as GodSpeakers so that they are sent directly to a town/province/whatever of your choosing. That won't solve your problem of walking down through market and having every two bit moron waiting to slurp your toes, but it will keep them from.trying to get at your keep. Bingobongo simple

Well, if you do that there needs to be a counter-contest (like a Sow/Harvest dynamic) where the ugliest uggerson is revered and, iono, given an important post to manage or a public works program to oversee. Because such was their capacity for kindness and humility and service, that they were graced with a countenance of equal humility. Or whatever. You don't want the hunchback slothpeople to get antsy and like smother the prettyfolk prematurely. If they're good at the job then they get to retire in relative comfort. If they gently caress and and die, then they received their reward in the next life or whathaveyou.
