Been playing in Tableau and made this:

Some interesting insights into Corbyn's tenure as a whole.

Gained vote share in significantly more seats than he lost across the 4 years
Did not lose a single Remain seat net

% of vote, not seats (also not my data). You can increase your voteshare in a seat and still lose it.

232-202 is 20 not 19 tho, so that'd be wrong unless that gray seat in bucks(?) is a did-not-stand I've forgotten about

Yeah the data source doesn't count Northern Ireland (for obvious reasons) or either Speaker's seats (Bercow or Hoyle) which is why the total is 630

Not my data, it's from here if anyone else wants to play about : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Myl8IpeobHwTJQv4GPKHHIi5JrRXPgwOYh9Xl3uzh-E/edit?usp=sharing

Rishi's gonna cover 2/3 of employee wages for 6 months provided employees work 1/3 of their contracted hours for the next six months.

Extending the self employed grant for the same period.

Doesn't apply to big companies who's revenue hasn't been impacted.

All seems pretty reasonable? (Other than companies being able to claim the job retention bonus but then immediately put that employer on 1/3hrs)

Doesn't help people who are still unable to work even 1/3 of their hours and have been on furlough the whole time. Just dragging out the increasingly tenuous connection between work and pay. gently caress it all into the sea and launch UBI now.

Even just a really broad roadmap of how their method is actually better, it's wierd that what seems like a dumb arrogant dogshit stance is normalised to the point that it can just be white noise stated even if they're actively being rude and unpleasant.

My plan is to not give money to bastards and quietly enjoy my life as far as possible.

If other people want to stay in the Labour Party then good luck to them. I just didn't want to keep reading about the poo poo things they were doing while seeing the monthly fee dribbling out of my account and feeling it was all somehow done in my name. It's clear enough the party as an entity doesn't want members with opinions like mine, despite there still being some notable good eggs in it. Fine by me. I'll *probably* still vote for them because I'm in a swing seat and gently caress voting Green and letting the Tories in. But honestly if the current standard of policy-free bum emissions from the leadership continues for four years, I might not even do that. The crushing of leftist hope over the past few years has successfully broken my spirit for the fight; life is hard enough right now without trying to take on the shambling corpse of the Labour Party as well. A year ago I was hoping to make use of my incredibly limited free time to get more involved in the local party and help push things further left. Now I really don't see the point. People with more time, energy and zeal can carry on if they want, I wish them every success, but I'm just loving done with it.

Doing a bit of background reading, Dave Prentis back in 2010 said he was fed up of "feeding the hand that bites" and made it clear that UNISON support was not unconditional. I can only assume that Ed and Jez's leadership helped to draw unions closer in (and saw the Fire Brigade Union return after leaving in 2004) but we really could see a swift reversal of that if Starmer continues to be a complete fucknugget.

It's a claim against tax though so assuming you pay the standard rate you're saving 20% of the claim, effectively.

Interesting to see people itt getting het up about not endorsing the slightly less bad option in the US when they won't be doing the UK equivalent and voting for Starmer's Labour.

If Starmer had answered "they're both awful, if I was American I wouldn't vote for either of them" he'd go up in my estimation by about 420%
