This was a few years ago, some lady goon I think was explaining how she quit her job to write erotica on Amazon and it was quite the success story. I think there may have been a wave of goons writing erotic stories in the wake of this thread, which just seems like it would be hilarious but I didn't follow it to its bitter conclusion. I thought Blue Story's ehh story was ultimately fake, because it was just adding more and more obviously dumb elements that goons love to mock I remember reading Duke Nukem Forever thread, despite not having an account yet. Observing the consesus going from hype through 5 stages of grief was a sobering experience. The game was poo poo, too. I think about the planefucker thread from time to time. I believe that was one of the very first sagas I followed from beginning to end while it was happening. Also E/N comics and the subsequent fighter game that came out of it. And an amazing Ask/Tell thread by a blind goon about being blind. A few folks went and described all the emoticons for him

I can't remember the exact thread it was in but years ago some goon was posting about his time working as a repo man for one of those predatory rent-to-own stores and he regaled everyone with this one time that he was taking away some little kid's bed. The exchange was something like the kid going "I need that bed to sleep" and the goon going "No, you need your mom to pay her bills  " and was presented as some cool takedown of the dumb lazy poors trying to hide behind their kids and not just the banality of evil and man's inhumanity to man.When I see all these stories about families getting evicted in the middle of a pandemic and hear people wondering what kind of person could do something like that I think back to that goon, and I wonder if as the economy crumbled and his body grew older and less able to do that kind of work he himself ever wound up on the receiving end of the work he took such glee in.

Some guy posted a CYOA with kind of creepy, pedophilic overtones that people started dogging him for. He got mod challenged to illustrate a certain number of scenarios that FYAD posters would give him. The stuff he drew in response was actually pretty hilarious, he had posted most of the drawings he needed, and it looked like he was going to succeed, but then someone posted some other stuff he had done outside of the forums that was just way worse and the whole thing got gassed. Also, Sid Vicious tried to beat him to one of the mod challenge options, but did kind of a half assed job and so got his own mod challenge to shave every hair on his head and body, which he did (even though the alternative would have been to just take the ban and pay $10). Since it was gassed I doubt it's recoverable now, but everything about that thread was just a delightful shitshow.
