yes

I mean I dont use winamp I use spotify but a spotify version of imageviewer well I dont want to stream images I have my own personal images

this seems like a terrible idea

what if you want to go to the next file in the folder? what if you want to do some basic manipulation like rotate the pic? what if you want to do a batch conversion of a bunch of images.

idk sounds like we got a lot of chumps in here that dont view enough images to require a good workhouse style image viewer

The image viewer with Google Picasa 3 is still pretty good, Windows 10 keeps on trying to steal file associations back all the time though. Using Windows 10 LTSC.

tbh i'm only really ever jamesing or web browsing on windows so i don’t really care about the rest of it, but i am annoyed at how the start menu manages to get slower and less responsive, somehow, with practically every iteration

Windows 8 probably wouldn't have been remembered as one of the Bad Windows if they had just made that start menu optional

this thread is about the best windows, xp, which is now open source. windows 8 is universally recognized as garbage and also not free software, so it is in no way the best

The bad part of Windows 8.0 wasn’t the new start menu, it was the idiotic hidden “charms” bar that you swiped in from the right being the only place to log out or shut down. I think you had to hold the mouse cursor on a single pixel in the bottom right edge to bring it up on desktop and god help you if you had multiple displays with the main desktop on the left.

People literally couldn’t figure out how to turn off their computer.

It’s the main thing they fixed in 8.1

foo bar was fine, it did what it needed to do no more no less

but spotify, as a service blows it out of the water except

the function to have multiple users contributing to a session (for the purpose of multiple people with spotify accs at the same party being able to queue songs etc) is quite poor, it “switches off” almost instantly.

and shuffle shouldn’t be a universal switch but playlist based: i want to listen to albums in order and playlists on shuffle. to do this I have to remember to turn on or off the shuffle button manually like a god forsaken orangutan
