Obviously an attack on Armenia proper would require Nato to help in defense, but probably no member countries would have accepted NK as part of Armenia. So I doubt it would have helped. presumably they mean that armenia should have unilaterally surrendered all disputed territory and possessions and renounced any and all territorial claims
