I've run a Mastodon instance for a couple of years now, mostly I just follow other Australians on their instances, but sometimes I like to jump on the federated timeline and see what the wider world is up to. I like the concept of the Fediverse, it gets me really excited, but it's really hard to explain what it is to normal people.

I hope that it gets greater adoption at some point, I think that it's going to be the way forward generally for social media. Lots of little niche services interacting with each other to form a global community. It's cool.
