Basically it was passive aggressive revenge. I don’t think Orietta was trying to kill the girl, just make her sick, even if it meant getting the rest of the family sick in the process. Of course I’m sure that’s gonna change after this latest episode when she finds the girl’s notebook in a place where it shouldn’t be...

I don't remember past seasons of Fargo being so Coen Brothers self-referential, aside from the actual movie Fargo, of course. Treehorn Trucking is a nice subtle nod that I don't mind, but the Outlaws straight up re-enacting Raising Arizona kind of took me out of it.

Seasons 1 and 2 are widely considered the best, with 3 being solid as well. Season 4 isn’t bad but definitely uneven, hampered primarily by a woefully miscast lead character played by Chris Rock.

He’s absolutely cowboying up to try and save Dorothy, and it is his undoing. In a way he does inadvertently save Dorothy because his arrival disrupts whatever Roy would’ve ended up doing to her in that moment.
